TARSHA CUTTEN

CLINICAL DIRECTOR / PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Tarsha is a shareholder, registered Psychotherapist and the Clinical Director at Clinic 77. She is also the brainchild behind the creation of Clinic 77. It has always been her vision to provide an AOD treatment facility of the highest standards, one that is the New Zealand equivalent of the Hazelden or Betty Ford Centre (now known as ‘The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’).

Having walked the road of addiction for years Tarsha understands the painful road of recovery. She openly speaks about her road of powerlessness, anger, fear and overwhelming anxiety when she decided to let go of daily drinking and drugging. She remembers when she finally had to stop running, admit defeat and begin to change everything. Tarsha resonates with Lao Tzu’s, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”

Tarsha is a living testament that as you face the pain head on, with tenacity and courage, a love for self and life forms. She believes anything is possible and change comes as you surrender and commit to doing things outside of your comfort zone. There is no mountain to high that can’t be conquered. She now reaches high and dreams big not just for herself but also for others! One of Tarsha’s life mantra is “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, what no one ever thought could happen is the very thing

God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

Tarsha has extensive work experience in the AOD sector. She started out by doing her internship at CADS North as well as contracting to them a few years later. This led into the role of AOD Clinician at TRANX Drug & Alcohol Services. After some time at TRANX she went on to become Clinical Team Leader managing all clinical staff. Tarsha has also worked for The Salvation Army and Connect Supporting Recovery as the Clinical Team Leader at Puna Whakataa’s Drug & Alcohol Residential Respite unit. Tarsha has a Master of Health Science (MHSc) and has been practicing counselling and psychotherapy with her own private clients for over 10 years. She is a registered practitioner with PBANZ and Dapaanz and a Dapaanz Accredited Supervisor.

Tarsha is an avid lover of all things fashion; some of her favourite designers are Mila Hermanovski and Seth Aaron Henderson. She loves to create, whether that is painting a contemporary piece, to photographing her abstract doll collection.
